Berengaria was born in 1180.  Berengaria's father was Alfonso VIII “El Noble” (King of Castille) and her mother was Eleanor of England.  Her paternal grandparents were Sancho III (King of Castille) and Blanche of Navarre; her maternal grandparents were Henry II  “Curmantle” (King of England) and Eleanor of Aquitaine (also m. K Louis VII). She had three sisters named Urraca, Blanche and Eleanor.  She died at the age of 66 on November 8th, 1246.
