William I, known as The Conqueror, was born in 1028. The Conqueror's father was Robert I “The Magnificent” (6th Duke of Normandy) and his mother was Herleva de Falaise.  His paternal grandparents were Richard II  “The Good” (4th Duke Of Normandy) and Judith of Brittany. He had a sister named Adelaide.  He was the older of the two children. He had two half-brothers named Odo and Robert.  He died at the age of 59 on September 9th, 1087.
