Matilda was born on February 7th, 1102. Matilda's father was Henry I “Beauclerc” (King of England) and her mother was Matilda (Edith) of Scotland.  Her paternal grandparents were William I “The Conqueror” (King of England) and Matilda (Maud) of Flanders; her maternal grandparents were Malcolm III “Great Chief” (King of Scots) and Margaret of Wessex. She had a brother named William.  She was the younger of the two children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Robert and Sybilla.  She died at the age of 65 on September 10th, 1167.
