Mathew was born in 1767 in North Kelsey, Lincoln, England and his christening took place there on April 23rd, 1767.  Mathew's father was William Rack and his mother was Eleanor Lamin.  His paternal grandparents were William Rack and Anne Sommerscales. He had two brothers and seven sisters, named William, Joseph, Ann, Mary, Isabel, Eleanor, Mary, Elizabeth and Eleanor.  He was the second oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 80 in 1847 in North Kelsey, Lincoln, England.  He was buried on January 22nd, 1847 in North Kelsey, Lincoln, England.
