Eleanor was born in 1775 in Killingholme, Lincoln, England and her christening took place there on January 22nd, 1775.  Eleanor's father was William Rack and her mother was Eleanor Lamin.  Her paternal grandparents were William Rack and Anne Sommerscales. She had three brothers and six sisters, named Mathew, William, Joseph, Ann, Mary, Isabel, Mary, Elizabeth and Eleanor.  She was the fourth youngest of the ten children.
