Ann was born in 1766 in North Kelsey, Lincoln, England and her christening took place there on February 23rd, 1766.  Ann's father was William Rack and her mother was Eleanor Lamin.  Her paternal grandparents were William Rack and Anne Sommerscales. She had three brothers and six sisters, named Mathew, William, Joseph, Mary, Isabel, Eleanor, Mary, Elizabeth and Eleanor.  She was the oldest of the ten children.
