Mary was born in 1790 in Irby Upon Humber, Lincoln, England and her christening took place there on April 27th, 1790.  Mary's father was Mathew Rack and her mother was Elizabeth Dishman.  Her paternal grandparents were William Rack and Anne Sommerscales. She had three half-brothers and five half-sisters, named John, James, Mathew, Rebecca, Jane, Arabella, Ann and Billy.
