John was born in 1770 in Killingholme, Lincoln, England and his christening took place there on May 15th, 1770.  John's father was Mathew Rack and his mother was Jane Paddison.  His paternal grandparents were William Rack and Anne Sommerscales. He had two brothers and five sisters, named James, Mathew, Rebecca, Jane, Arabella, Ann and Billy.  He was the oldest of the eight children. He had a half-sister named Mary.  He died in 1770 in Killingholme, Lincoln, England.
