Mark was born in 1863.1  Mark's father was David Frow and his mother was Dorcas Frow.  His maternal grandparents were John Frow and Ann Towl. He had four brothers and four sisters, named David, Henry, George, Frederick, Mary, Emma, Harriet and Ellen.  He was the fourth oldest of the nine children. He had two half-brothers named John and James.
