Margaret Austen

Margaret was born in 1842 in Tenterden, Kent, England. Margaret's father was Thomas Austen and her mother was Sarah Wightwick. Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Austen and Catherine Reader; her maternal grandparents were John Wightwick and Elizabeth Newsham. She had six brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, Edward, Richard, James, Stephen, George, Elizabeth, Sarah, Ann and Mary Jane. She was the sixth oldest of the eleven children.
