George Austen

George was born in 1855 in Tenterden, Kent, England. George's father was Thomas Austen and his mother was Sarah Wightwick. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Austen and Catherine Reader; his maternal grandparents were John Wightwick and Elizabeth Newsham. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, Edward, Richard, James, Stephen, Elizabeth, Sarah, Ann, Margaret and Mary Jane. He was the youngest of the eleven children.
