Agnes was born in 1886 in Blyth Northumberland England.  Agnes' father was Mathew Comb and her mother was Jane Scott.  Her paternal grandparents were Mathew Comb and Mary Crombie; her maternal grandparents were Alexander Scott and Jane Alexander. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Mathew, Richard, James, Alexander, Jane, Mary and Ann.  She was the youngest of the eight children.
