Mathew was born on January 2nd, 1814 in Dunbar East Lothian Scotland and his christening took place there on January 9th, 1814.1   Mathew's father was James Comb and his mother was Anne Marr.  He was an only child.  He died  due to Brain disease at the age of 69 on July 5th, 1883 in District Asylum Haddington.  The funeral took place on July 8th, 1883 in Dunbar East Lothian Scotland.
