James Bell

James was born in January 1654 in Abercorn and his baptism took place there on January 4th, 1654.¹   James' father was John Bell and his mother was Elspeth Ramsay.  His paternal grandparents were John Bell and Margrat Glen. He had six brothers and five sisters, named John, John, William, Thomas, Bartlay, Peter, Margaret, Jennet, Elspeth, Helen and Margaret.  He was the oldest of the twelve children.
