Matilda was born on March 22nd, 1804.  Matilda's father was Capt Samuel Rankin and her mother was Jane McConahey.  Her paternal grandparents were William Rankin and Abagail Tassie (Native American???). She had seven brothers and two sisters, named John, Samuel, Stephen, William, David, Matthew, James, Abigail and Jane.  She died at the age of 66 on February 22nd, 1871.
