Samuel was born on July 19th, 1769.  Samuel's father was William Rankin and his mother was Abagail Tassie (Native American???).  His paternal grandparents were David Rankin Sr and Jennet McCormick.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 51 on October 10th, 1820 in Washington Co, PA.
