Mary Polly was born on March 17th, 1807.  Mary Polly's father was Alexander McCracken and his mother was Margaret possibly Marshall.  His maternal grandparents were Capt Henry Marshall and Mattie possibly Chambers. He had eight brothers and five sisters, named Henry, William, Robert Marshall, James, Alexander, Henry, John Murry, Arthur, Sarah, Lillie, Martha, Margaret and Jane.  He was the youngest of the fourteen children.
