Arthur was born on February 9th, 1804.  Arthur's father was Alexander McCracken and his mother was Margaret possibly Marshall.  His maternal grandparents were Capt Henry Marshall and Mattie possibly Chambers. He had eight brothers and five sisters, named Henry, William, Robert Marshall, James, Alexander, Henry, John Murry, Mary Polly, Sarah, Lillie, Martha, Margaret and Jane.  He was the thirteenth oldest of the fourteen children.  He died at the age of 81 on April 1st, 1885.
