Her paternal grandparents were George Washington Garton and Mary Susan Shipley. She had six brothers and five sisters, named Charles Lee, Louis Lyle, Lloyd Orville, Claire Allen, Mardis Woodrow, James Richard, Ufa Imogene, Annetta Mary, LaRue Ellen, Doris Dean and Alice Adelle. She was the second oldest of the twelve children. She died at the age of 75 on July 30th, 1970 in Humeston, Wayne County, Iowa, USA. She was buried in Lewisburg Cemetery, Clay Township, Wayne County, Iowa, USA.1 -
