Jeremiah was born about 1784 in Wilkes County,NC. Jeremiah's father was Alexander Gilreath and his mother was Elizabeth Souther. His paternal grandparents were William Gilreath and Mary Arrington. He had four brothers and four sisters, named George, Larkin W., James Harvey, Noah, Mary "Polly", Rhoda L., Lucy and Elizabeth. He was the second oldest of the nine children. He died on July 3rd, 1849 in Union County,GA.General Notes
Jeremiah and most of his family moved to Union County, GA about 1845.
