James Harvey Gilreath 
James Harvey was born about 1798 in Wilkes County,NC. James Harvey's father was Alexander Gilreath and his mother was Elizabeth Souther. His paternal grandparents were William Gilreath and Mary Arrington. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Jeremiah, George, Larkin W., Noah, Mary "Polly", Rhoda L., Lucy and Elizabeth. He was the third youngest of the nine children. He died about 1860 in Cumberland County,KY.General Notes
James Harvey Gilreath migrated from Wilkes County, NC to Cumberland
County, Kentucky in about 1823. On January 8, 1823, he was granted 50
acres on Illwill Creek in Cumberland County and three more land grants of
the same size in the Oil Fork of Bear Creek, one in February 1830 and two
in February 1833.
James Harvey moved to Cumberland Cty KY with Larkin. Unlike Larkin, however, James stayed there till his death shortly after the 1860 census. James was married at least twice and only the give name of his first wife is found on a deed of land to John Roe in 1832. Annie Gilreath was probably the mother of James' two oldest children. His last wife, Kissah, is listed as a child and heir of Frank Keen and appreas to e the Mother of James' three younger children. In his will filed in Aug 1860 James's sons were:
William, Demeritious, Euphronis/Humphrey.
