Alexander II Dunkeld the Peaceful of was born on August 24th, 1198 in Haddington, East Lothian, Scotland.  Alexander II Dunkeld the Peaceful of's father was William I the Lion of Scotland and his mother was Ermengarde de Beaumont.  His paternal grandparents were Henry Dunkeld of Huntingdon and Adelaide (Ada) de Warenne; his maternal grandparents were Richard de Beaumont and Lucie de l'Aigle. He had three sisters named Margaret of, Isabella of and Marjorie of.  He was the second oldest of the four children. He had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Robert, Henry, Margaret of, Ada Fitzwilliam of, Aufrica Fitzwilliam of and Isabella of.  He died at the age of 50 on July 8th, 1249 in Isle of Kerrera, Strathclyde, Scotland.  He was buried in Melrose Abbey, Roxburghshire, Scotland.
