John Philip Knappenberger 
John Philip was born on April 7th, 1802 in Northampton (later Lehigh County), Pennsylvania. John Philip's father was Johan Philip Knappenberger and his mother was Maria Barbara Stettler. His paternal grandparents were Johan Henrich Knappenberger and Anna Margaretha Desch; his maternal grandparents were Henry Stettler and Barbara Steininger. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Jonathan, Henry, Jacob, Solomon, Lydia, Anna Maria, Judith K., Rebecca, Salome and Tevilla. He was the second oldest of the eleven children. He had a half-brother named Johan Philip Jr.. He died at the age of 71 on October 22nd, 1873 in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania.-
