Johan Philip was born on March 7th, 1776 in Lower Macungie Township,Northampton County,Pennsylvania. Johan Philip's father was Johan Henrich Knappenberger and his mother was Anna Margaretha Desch. His paternal grandparents were Johan Michael Knappenberger and Catherina Heilig. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Johan Adam, Conrad, Johann Jacob, Johan Henrich Jr., Johan George, Daniel, Anna Margaretha, Maria, Catherina, Rosina and Lydia. He was the sixth oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 75 on March 16th, 1851 in Lower Macungie Township, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. He was buried on March 19th, 1851 in Lehigh Zion Church Cemetery, Alburtis, Lower Macunige, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania.General Notes

According to the Lehigh County History 3 volume set of history and
"genealogy" (according to Karen she "used the term genealogy lightly as
it is basically family stories written around 1900 (give or take a few
years) by descendants and submitted for publishing". Sent by Karen Rex
(ksrex@@ix.netcom.com): "Phillip Knappenberger was a farmer and had a 115
acre farm, located one mile northeast of Macungie. He and family were
Lutheran members of the Lehigh Church, and there he and wife and some
children are now buried. He was married to Barbara Stettler. They had
the following children: Jonas; Philip; Jacob; Henry; Solomon; Tevillia,
married to Theodore Schell; Rebecca, married to Leon Fenstermacher; Maria
(Polly), married to John Kemmerer; and Mrs. George Baer." Note

Salome Knappenberger ( who married Leon Fenstermacher/Fenstermaker) are
