Sarah Ann Crosiar 
Sarah Ann was born on September 25th, 1827 in Illinois. Sarah Ann's father was Simon Crosiar and her mother was Sarah H. Owen. Her paternal grandparents were John Simon Crosiar and Jane Hert; her maternal grandparents were Amasa Owen and Sarah Osborn. She had six brothers and a sister, named Amasa Owen, Eli, Simon, William, Jacob, Asa and Mary Ann. She was the third youngest of the eight children. She died at the age of 5 on May 15th, 1833 in Utica, La Salle County, Illinois.General Notes
Cause of Death:<CAUS> drowned in Illinois river canoe accident
Ted Cagley, Quaife-Crosiar family historian, reported that Sarah and her
brother Eli drowned in the Illinois River when a canoe overturned May
15, 1843 and this is supported by www. genealogy.com: Connecticut
Genealogies #1., 1600s-1800s. BUT at Ancestry.com, the L R Pierce
Family site shows Sarah M. Crosier married to William Hadley and lists
this Sarah as a child of Simon Crosier and Sarah Owen Crosier. There are
other discrepancies in the Pierce tree that cause the research to be
questioned. A research trip to La Salle County, Illinois would probably
solve questions.
