David Gatten 
David was born on February 4th, 1851 in Bellvillle, Richalnd co., Ohio. David's father was Isaac Gatten and his mother is Mehettable Mariah Carpenter. His paternal grandparents were William Benjamin Gatten and Sarah Murphy. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named John, Cyrus, Aaron, Isaac Jr, Asa, Jeremiah, Madison Welsh, Rhoda W., Caroline, Mary Ann and Mariah. He was the second youngest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 82 on January 4th, 1934 in Burden, Cowley Co., Kansas. He was buried in Burden Cemetery, Burden, Cowley Co., Kansas.-
