Marion Walter was born on June 22nd, 1880 in Burden, Cowley Co., Kansas. Marion Walter's father was David Gatten and his mother is Eva Margaretta Lauppe. His paternal grandfather was Isaac Gatten and his paternal grandmother is Mehettable Mariah Carpenter. He had three brothers and four sisters, named William Ellsworth, Roy Earnest, Glen Hugh, Rosa Belle, Arzelia E., Rhoda M. and Dorothy May. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 41 on August 17th, 1921.-
