John Gatten

John was born on October 28th, 1834 in Richland Co., Ohio. John's father was Isaac Gatten and his mother is Mehettable Mariah Carpenter. His paternal grandparents were William Benjamin Gatten and Sarah Murphy. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Cyrus, Aaron, Isaac Jr, Asa, Jeremiah, David, Madison Welsh, Rhoda W., Caroline, Mary Ann and Mariah. He is the second oldest of the twelve children.
