General Notes

Will of Shelton Gentry     Warrick County, Indiana

October 30th in the year of our Lord 1833.

I in the name of God amen------------------------I Shelton Gentry being in a low State of helth but Sound in memory make this my last will and testament of all.  I recommend my Soul to God that five it andmy body to my Executors to wit John Phillips and Thomas Stephenson whome I have Chosen to act as Such and as to my worldly affairs first I request all my Just debts to be paid---------

I bequest as much of my property Sold as will pay for one fourth part of the quarter section of land I know live on so as to include as much of the plantation as possible and deed  (? said) land to my two sons Jesse and David Gentry reserving the use of (?said) land to my wife, Sarah Gentry as long as she lives as widow or till the two said boys comes of age-----------------

I Bequeath one bed and (?) a peace to each of my daughters to wit Nancy and Jane Gentry-------------------

bequest my wife to have the balance of my property during her widow hood and if she should mary then the property to be equally devided between my wife and Susanna Polly Elizabeth and Sarah Gentry my daughters-----------------

Guardianship Bond

Dated 13th Day of May, 1844---------------The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound Abraham Phillips has been appointed Guardian of Sarah and Elizabeth Gentry, infant heirs of Shelton Gentry-------------

Feb Term 1835   Phillips, Exc. files paymant of $13.87, for medical services during the last sickness.

May Term 1835    Settlement continued

August Term    Aug 10, 1835    Estate of Shelton Gentry dec'd

Now at this time comes John Phillips executor of said estate in final settlement of there of and produced the receipts of Henderson Watson and Jane Watson (laate Jane Gentry) for one cow and one bed, the amount ______ left in will of said dec'd to said Henderson & Jane, also a like receipt from Nancy Gnetry for one cow and one bed left as of d----by the dec'd ofd and files his account current from which it appears that final settlements of said estate agreeable to the will of the dec'd is made, and the said Exc._______ from further settlement thereof.
