George Gentry 
George was born in 1778 in Surry County,North Carolina. George's father was Samuel Gentry and his mother was Sarah Brock. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Gentry and Agnes Shelton. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Shelton, Thomas, Arthur, Nancy, Sarah (Sally), Susannah and Elizabeth. He was the oldest of the eight children. He had four half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Matthew, Joseph, James, William, Agnes and Daughter.-
