William Gentry 
William was born in 1787 in Surry County,North Carolina. William's father was Samuel Gentry and his mother was Agnes Brooks. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Gentry and Agnes Shelton. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Matthew, Joseph, James, Agnes and Daughter. He was the youngest of the six children. He had four half-brothers and four half-sisters, named George, Shelton, Thomas, Arthur, Nancy, Sarah (Sally), Susannah and Elizabeth. He died about 1839 in Surry County,North Carolina.-
