Hannah Ames

Hannah was born on October 9th, 1790 in Somerset,Washington Co,Pennsylvania. Hannah's father was Jabez Ames and her mother was Elizabeth Smith. Her paternal grandparents were William Ames (Eames) and Margaret UNKNOWN; her maternal grandfather was Nemiah Smith. She had seven brothers and two sisters, named Nehemia, Martin, Absalom, George, Dorsey Pentecost, William, John, Anna and Sybil Sidney. She was the oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 90 on August 21st, 1881 in Jefferson Co,Ohio. She was buried in Tent Community Church Cemetery,Jefferson Co,Ohio.

‌Hannah and Jacob were married in a religious ceremony about 1808 in West Alexander,Washington Co,Pennsylvania. They had eight sons and five daughters, and also a child of unknown gender, named William, John, Absalom, Martin Smith, Jacob Johnston, Jabez Gifford, Hiram, Jerome, Elizabeth, Mary Florence, Sarah Ann, Hannah, Mariah Arabella and UNKNOWN.
