William Ames

William was born on October 8th, 1805 in Pennsylvania.  William's father was Jabez Ames and his mother was Elizabeth Smith.  His paternal grandparents were William Ames (Eames) and Margaret UNKNOWN; his maternal grandfather was Nemiah Smith. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Nehemia, Martin, Absalom, George, Dorsey Pentecost, John, Hannah, Anna and Sybil Sidney.  He was the third youngest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 72 on October 15th, 1877 in Boone,Des Moines Co,Iowa.  He was buried in West Linwood,Boone,Des Moines Co,Iowa.

They had two sons and three daughters, named Amos Holland, Henry D, Elizabeth M, Edith and Leticia.
