Eliza J. Shields 
Eliza J. was born on February 22nd, 1844 in Monroe County, Indiana. Eliza J.'s father was John Shields and her mother was Eliza Jane Blakely. Her paternal grandparents were William L., Sr. Shields and Nancy Elizabeth Nash; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Blakely and Elizabeth McFall. She had three brothers and six sisters, named Thomas Jefferson, Frank P., John F., Mary E., Rebecca M., Anna, Susannah, Elizabeth and Catherine "Katie". She was the fourth oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 68 on August 16th, 1912 in Monroe County, Indiana. She was buried in Rosehill Cemetery, Bloomington, Monroe, Indiana.General Notes

time of the Census living with her mother Eliza Shields.
In 1910, Eliza was a resident of Perry Twp., Monroe Co., Indiana, at the
time of the Census.
She died on 16 August 1912 at Monroe Co., Indiana, and the cause of death
was listed as Organic disease of Heart, resulting Anasarca.
