Margaret Louise was born on April 23rd, 1929. Margaret Louise's father was Leander Lee Deckard and her mother was Lavesta Smith. Her paternal grandparents were Benjamin Deckard and Mary Polly Ann Kinser; her maternal grandparents were David Smith and Rebecca Sexton. She had seven brothers and three sisters, named Hebert, Roy Luke Rufford, Elza Ed, Clovis Bean, Glenn, Floyd, Carl Edward, Dorothy, Dorotha and Mary Ann. She was the second youngest of the eleven children.-
