Carl Edward Deckard 
Carl Edward was born on November 5th, 1931 in Monroe Co., Indiana. Carl Edward's father was Leander Lee Deckard and his mother was Lavesta Smith. His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Deckard and Mary Polly Ann Kinser; his maternal grandparents were David Smith and Rebecca Sexton. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Hebert, Roy Luke Rufford, Elza Ed, Clovis Bean, Glenn, Floyd, Dorothy, Dorotha, Mary Ann and Margaret Louise. He was the youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 67 on March 11th, 1999 in Fontain Bleu Nursing Home, Bloomington, Monroe Co., Indiana. He was buried in Burgoon Cemetery, Indiana.General Notes

BLOOMINGTON -- Carl Deckard, 67, Bloomington, died at 8:30 p.m. Thursday
at Fontain bleu Nursing Home.
Born in Monroe County, he was the son of Lee and Lavesta (Smith) Deckard.
He married Vida Bell Hardin on May 1, 1954, in Monroe County, and she
survives.
He retired from Rogers Building Supply and was a member of Blackwell
Pentecostal Church.
Surviving with his wife of Bloomington are one son, Eddie Deckard of
Bloomington; one daughter, Tereasa Parks of Bloomington; two brothers:
Clovis Deckard of Mitchell and Elza Deckard of Washington, D.C., three
sisters: Margaret Begley of Heltonville, Dorothy Hollars and Ruth
Deckard, both of Bedford; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Mary Ann Stewert
and Dorothy Hawkins; and three brothers: Luke, Floyd and Herbert Deckard.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Jones Funeral Home, Heltonville,
with Brother Greg Eads officiating. Burial will follow in Burgoon
Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Carl was a very quite man. He was one of the best guitarist around. He
could have played professionally except for his shyest.
