Ralph Edward was born on June 16th, 1919 in Marengo, Iowa Co., IA. Ralph Edward's father was William Garfield Thomas and his mother was Mary Winifred Simmons. His paternal grandparents were Abraham Thomas and Mary Evans; his maternal grandparents were William Heald Simmons and Josephine Pettit. He had eight brothers and two sisters, named Robert Abraham, Melvin William, Clifford James, Roy George, Allen Joseph, Glenn Frederick, Charles Franklin, Richard John, Marianne Harriet and Elizabeth Marie. He was the fifth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 71 on September 15th, 1990.General Notes
