Her paternal grandparents were Abraham Thomas and Mary Evans; her maternal grandparents were William Heald Simmons and Josephine Pettit. She had nine brothers and a sister, named Robert Abraham, Melvin William, Clifford James, Roy George, Ralph Edward, Allen Joseph, Glenn Frederick, Charles Franklin, Richard John and Elizabeth Marie. She was the fifth youngest of the eleven children. She died about 1994.General Notes
