Matthew and Jane were married in a religious ceremony on December 5th, 1819 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Leigh) by Vicar Daniel Birkett and witnessed by Samuel Whittle & Timothy Taylor.1 They had four sons and four daughters, named William, Thomas, Matthew, John, Jane, May, Alice and Eliza. There are no more children.
