Thomas was born in September 1836 in Gayton and his baptism took place on September 18th, 1836 in Heswall.1  Thomas' father was Thomas Woodworth (Woodward) and his mother was Hannah Kemp.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Woodworth and Alice Dobb. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Samuel, Thomas, Joseph, James, Hannah, Jane and Sarah.  He was the youngest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 5 in November 1841 in Gayton.  He was buried on November 28th, 1841 in Heswall.1
