Margaret was born in 1844 in Eccleston.1   Margaret's father was Henry Winstanley and her mother was Margaret Williams.  Her maternal grandparents were Samuel Williams and Ann Millington. She had a brother and three sisters, named Henry, Ann, Mary and Alice.  She was the third oldest of the five children.
