Mary was born in 1841 in Eccleston.1  Mary's father was Henry Winstanley and her mother was Margaret Williams.  Her maternal grandparents were Samuel Williams and Ann Millington. She had a brother and three sisters, named Henry, Ann, Margaret and Alice.  She was the second oldest of the five children.



Mary's family with John Preston

‌Mary and John were married in a religious ceremony on June 7th, 1862 in Eccleston.2   The family line is yet to be completed.
