Ann was born in 1839 in Prescot.1  Ann's father was Henry Winstanley and her mother was Margaret Williams.  Her maternal grandparents were Samuel Williams and Ann Millington. She had a brother and three sisters, named Henry, Mary, Margaret and Alice.  She was the oldest of the five children.

‌Ann and Joseph were married in a religious ceremony on April 11th, 1858 in Liverpool.2   The family line is yet to be completed.
