Dorothy was born in 1894. Dorothy's father was Isaiah White and her mother was Martha Jane Eddowes. Her maternal grandparents were John Eddowes and Phoebe Parry. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Luke, George, William, Emily and Clara. She was the third oldest of the six children.
