George was born on May 7th, 1905 in West Derby and his baptism took place on May 17th, 1905 in Everton.1 2  George's father was Thomas Murphy Wallace and his mother was Mary Alice Oxton.  His maternal grandparents were Joseph Oxton and Mary Lewis. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Joseph, Thomas, Harold, Margaret, Edith, Eva, Ivy and Daisy.  He was the seventh oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 87 in April 1993 in Liverpool.  His burial was on April 6th, 1993 in Liverpool.3
