Edith was born on March 3rd, 1894 in West Derby and her baptism took place on March 25th, 1894 at St. Peter (Liverpool).1 2  Edith's father was Thomas Murphy Wallace and her mother was Mary Alice Oxton.  Her maternal grandparents were Joseph Oxton and Mary Lewis. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, Thomas, George, Harold, Margaret, Eva, Ivy and Daisy.  She was the third oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 1 in November 1895 in West Derby.  Her burial was on November 6th, 1896 in Liverpool.3
