Maria Gertrude Thornton

Maria was born in 1832 in Beverley and her christening took place there on March 20th, 1832.^1 2

Maria's father was William Thornton and her mother was Mary Dunn. She had four brothers and six sisters, named William, James, George, Joseph, Prudence, Mary, Annie, Ruth, Frances and Eliza.  She was the fifth youngest of the eleven children.  She died at the age of 69 in December 1901 in Nottinghampshire.³
