Annie's father was Allen Sykes and her mother was Mary Ann Blackburn. Her maternal grandparents were George Blackburn and Phebe Oldham. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Benjamin, Allen, Alfred, George, Phebe, Mary and Martha. She was the fourth oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 60 in 1920.

  NOTE: There is another Annie Sykes, daughter of Allen and Elizabeth of Kirkheaton born 30 Sep 1860 who married Joe Taylor in 1880.
  
  In 1871, Annie (10) was with her parents Allen and Mary A Sykes and family at Batley, near Dewsbury.
  
  In 1881, Annie (20) was recorded as unmarried and with parents Allen, a cow keeper, & Mary A and her three younger brothrs at Batley.
  
  3 Dec 1888, Annie Sykes (28), daughter of Allen, a Tuner married Joseph Wilikinson (21), both of Batley.
  
  In 1901 Annie and Joseph Wilkinson (40 & 34) were with Lydia (17), Gertrude (11) and Arthur (7) and Annie's mother Mary Ann Sykes (71, Head, Cow Keeper).
