Sally was born in 1814 in Farnworth and her baptism took place on January 9th, 1814 at St. Saviour (Ringley).1  Sally's father was James Stones and her mother was Hannah (Ann) Parr.  Her paternal grandparents were Daniel Stones and Ann Mather. She had three brothers and five sisters, named John, Daniel, James, Ann, Nancy, Hannah, Alice and Betty.  She was the fourth oldest of the nine known children.
