Hannah was born in 1823 in Farnworth and her baptism took place on June 29th, 1823 at St. Saviour (Ringley).1  Hannah's father was James Stones and her mother was Hannah (Ann) Parr.  Her paternal grandparents were Daniel Stones and Ann Mather. She had three brothers and five sisters, named John, Daniel, James, Ann, Sally, Nancy, Alice and Betty.  She was the third youngest of the nine known children.
